i know this isnt as good as a lot of the scenery stuff that gets posted, but im a bit of a n00b when it comes to serious art. I used terragen for all of it.

i luv it but the river and the mountains don't really have a connection, if you know what i mean... well, it IS better than what i can do. keep up the great work chap!

mmm...work on the shore a bit more. There's no connection between the shore and the actual river. It seems to kind of drop off. Always make sure that when you're working with water, you dont set the level of it too high because you'll end up getting dropping off mountains like that. Also, change up the transparency of the water to help give it a more real feel. And the surface map could use some work. Remember to use varying types for the surface map. It doesnt even really have to be that detailed at first if the environment itself looks good. The one here looks kind of plain, except for maybe the fog-like properties.

Keep at it dude :) Everyone starts out like that. I know I did and I have some nice terragen pieces now :)
